Overview

Turquoise sea, golden sand, light glistening on ancient ruins. A dream painted in sunset hues. All is in Antalya with the blend of the remants from the eras, from the emperors of the eras who left their marks in this lovely region. Well-preserved historical sites give us an opportunity to be explored. We will start with Perge, an important city of ancient Pamphylia, which St Paul visited on his first missionary journey. Our next journey is straight to Aspendos Ancient City with its massive well preserved theatre, with a capacity of 15,000 spectators. Still used today, the theatre's galleries, stage decorations and acoustics all testify to the architect's success. Nearby stand the remains of a basilica, an agora and one of the largest aqueducts in Anatolia. Our final destination is Side with the remains of Roman baths, temples, churches, a mausoleum, theatre and agora which are in good condition as of today. The jewels of Mediterranean await your visit. What To Expect

Perge Ancient City
Welcome to our jewels of Mediterranean heritage tour in Antalya district. Our full day excursion is dedicated to top three important landmarks of Eastern Mediterranean region. Our first stop is Perge,
The ancient city of Perge near today's Antalya was founded in about 1000 BC and then captured by the Persians, and by the armies of Alexander the Great about 333 BC before it became a part of the Seleucid Kingdom. Then in 188 BC the Romans arrived. The majority of places you can see today have been built, including a theatre that holds 15 000 people, a public square, a gymnasium and a necropolis. The ruins of Roman baths, the imposing gates of the town and a nymphaeum from the 2nd century AD can also be found there. Thirteen ancient images, including the only complete sculpture by Emperor Caracalla, a 6 ft display by moon Goddess Selene and goddesses Aphrodite, Némesis, Athena and Tykhe, have been discovered during recent excavations in Perge. A magnificent ancient city to be discovered.

Aspendos Ruins
Our next stop is another marvel of the Mediterranean Region, Aspendos Ancient City. The Hittites first wrote about Aspendos Roman Theater in the year 800 BC. Aspendos is the best preserved ancient theater in the world, so it's no surprise that it still acts as a major destination for concerts today. Legend has it that the city's ruler organized a competition for who could build the greatest structure that would bring the city prosperity and joy, with the prize being the leader's famously beautiful daughter's hand in marriage. The first architect constructed the stunning aqueducts which provided water for the whole city. Overjoyed, the leader pledged his daughter to him but when sitting in the theater built by the second architect he heard a whisper, “choose the theater-builder.” He looked up, and there on the stage was the architect Zenon, who’d built a theater where even whispers from stage sounded like they were from the gods. Zenon won the competition. Hear the rest story from us.

Side Antik Kenti
Ancient Side welcomes visitors through the Main Gate located between two towers, directly opposite the monumental fountain, of the insurmountable town walls. The Main Gate dates from the 2nd century. It was also used for ceremonial processions along with the shaped horse shoe. The monumental well overlooking the gate was built in the second century, with three wide arches and a basin. It is Anatolia 's largest old fountain. Originally the structure had three floors and was decorated with marble coverings and reliefs, but currently only one level stands and some decorations can be seen from the swimming pool. The river Manavgat used to supply water to the well with aqueducts, splendid examples of the human naivety of nature. Aqueduct sections remain to be seen. After Side we shall take you back to your hotel or to the airport for your dometic or internation frlight from Antalya.
